HOUSE A+N
Via Spartaco - Milan, 2020

A classic mid-19th century Milanese apartment is the setting for this project. The main goal was to create an apartment where a contemporary approach could fit into the unique soul of the original space. The internal distribution has undergone some changes to meet the needs of the new tenants, a couple with a small daughter, who often like to host friends and relatives at home.
The wooden doors, decorative sideboards and classic stucco ceilings were retained, offering a counterpart to the project's contemporary materials, finishes and colours. In all the rooms the original flooring has been brought to light, such as the herringbone parquet and the marble in the corridor. The bathroom has undergone the most important renovation, dividing in two and creating a guest bathroom and a bathroom for the exclusive use of the master bedroom. For the guest bathroom, a Venetian terrazzo-effect stoneware cladding was chosen, which matches the flooring of the corridor, while for the master bathroom, a cladding with a more modern character was opted for. The prominent feature of the apartment is the long corridor, a large distribution space that connects the living area and the sleeping area, creating fascinating perspectives throughout the space.
